It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Doreen Ethel Woods of Sylvan Lake, Alberta, at Bethany Long Term Care Centre on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at the age of 88 years. Doreen was born on August 5, 1932 at Isley, Alberta. She married Clarence Woods June 28, 1952. They farmed at Bentley, Alberta for many years, until Clarence passed away in 1985. Doreen lived at Legacy Estates in Red Deer, for several years. Here she enjoyed friends and social activities. She especially enjoyed Roxy’s cooking and company. Doreen’s greatest passion was spending time with her family, and she loved to cook and bake. Doreen also loved her gardening. Doreen will be lovingly remembered by her children, Barry (Juanita) Woods of Sylvan Lake, Alberta, Shane Woods (Cheryl Rolfes) of Eckville, Alberta, Cheryl Winkelman of Cranbrook, British Columbia, Karen (Bob) Rolfes of Eckville, Alberta and Patty (Dale) Gray of Wasa, British Columbia; her twelve grandchildren and her nine great grandchildren. Doreen will also be sadly missed by her brothers, Ralph and Keith Whitlock, both of Vernon, British Columbia. Doreen was predeceased by her husband, her five sisters and her parents.

A Celebration of Doreen’s Life will be held at Bentley, Alberta, at a later date. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
