Obituary for David "Dave" Genge

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mr. David ‘Dave’ Genge of Joffre, Alberta, at home on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at the age of 58 years. Dave worked at IPSCO/Evraz for thirty years; and for the last four years, up until his passing, he worked for Quinn. He was well respected and loved by all who knew him. Dave was a sincere, genuine man and always a gentleman. His family always came first; he was a devoted husband and father to his sons. Dave loved the outdoors, camping, cooking for everyone and gardening, just to name a few things. Dave will be lovingly remembered by his wife of forty years, Sue Schofield; his sons, Julian (Tawnya) and Jeremy and his beloved grandchildren, that were also his pride and joy, Ayla and Kaiden and his special four-legged friends, Ringo and Mojo. Dave will also be sadly missed by everyone that knew him, especially by his siblings, Lloyd (Laura), Rachel (Jerome) Biggin, Kevin (Vera), Jocelyn (Edward) Parrott and Faye (Gary) Biggin; the Schofield Family; as well as other numerous family members and dear friends. Dave was predeceased by his parents, Renie and George; a brother, Barry and a nephew, Kevin Biggin, who just passed away on January 15, 2021. A Celebration of Dave’s Life will be held at a later date. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. If desired, Memorial Donations in Dave’s honor may be made directly to the Canadian Diabetes Society at www.diabetes.ca. Condolences may be sent or viewed at www.parklandfuneralhome.com. Arrangements in care of Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer. 403.340.4040.
