It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mrs. Daria Watkins, of Red Deer, Alberta, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at the age of 70 years. Daria was born in Hardisty, Alberta on July 13, 1952 to Elsie and Richard Fagin. She grew up in Hardisty with her older brother, Dale, her older sister, Darla and her younger sister, Debbie. Daria married the love of her life, Jim Watkins on September 12, 1970 and had a family of their own, raising two sons, David and Jeff. They lived in Hardisty until 1999, when they left Hardisty and moved to Airdrie, and then Sylvan Lake, before retiring in Red Deer. Along with working at CIBC for twenty-one years, Daria thoroughly enjoyed her favorite past times including golfing, cooking, wine making, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren. She always looked forward to her and Jim’s yearly trips to Palm Springs. Daria will be forever remembered by her loving husband, Jim; her sons, David (Christy) Watkins and Jeff (Kuldeep) Watkins; her grandchildren, Tanner (Brooklyn), Karma, Brianna and Darin; her brother, Dale Fagin and her sisters, Darla Urich and Debbie (Jim) Gerlinger; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Daria was predeceased by her parents, Richard and Elsie. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
