Obituary

Darcy L’Heureux passed away peacefully the morning of Friday, October 30, 2020, with the love of her family surrounding her, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Darcy Ann Lee to parents Lovett and Effie Lee in 1956, in the Town of Kimberley, British Columbia. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 13 years, Raymond L’Heureux; daughters Amanda LeBlanc and Jennifer Leslie; sons George “Geordie” Fee and Christopher “Michael” (Terrill) Fee; step-son Samuel L’Heureux; sister Vonna Pavan and brother Alan “Brian” (Marylin) Lee; as well as her grandchildren, nieces, nephews and numerous relatives. She will also be dearly missed by her many friends. Darcy was predeceased by her parents, Lovett and Effie Lee; and siblings Robert Lee, Karren Willicome, Alma Coombes, and Sheila “Gail” Spiers. She will fondly be remembered for her bright smile and kind nature. From a young age, Darcy developed a passion for a broad range of crafts (many of which she learned from her mom). She also loved participating in a variety of sports and had a passion for cooking. The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Red Deer Hospice Society for their care and compassion. In leu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations may be made in Darcy’s name to the Red Deer Hospice Society (99 Arnot Ave, Red Deer, AB T4R 3S6). Mom, I will never forget the time we rode our bikes home from the Highschool after my band concert in the dark pouring rain. You decided since we were going to get wet anyway we might as well have fun doing it. So for the whole bike ride home we rode through every puddle we could find. The bigger the better. And when we got home we were dripping mud from head to toe but full of laughter and joy! Love you forever and always!

I would like to start by saying...My thoughts and prayers go out to Raymond and Family...when I first met Darcy was when she came to work at McDonald’s East...so quite and humble...working with Darcy was a pleasure and her job she always did well...she was a beautiful person inside and out!! She always had a smile and hug for me...I will always remember Darcy for her kindness and help at work, I learned something new when working with her all the time....R.I.P. my friend, Lv, Debbie

Darcy was born four days after me and our mothers shared a hospital room. We were friends from day one and celebrated our birthdays together every year until we were about 10 years old. Darcy’s Mom Effie would make us matching dresses, and my mom Winifred would make matching cakes. As it goes in life, we lost contact after we both were married and moved away from Kimberley. But, Darcy was always in my heart and I have many fond memories of us growing up together. My heartfelt condolences to Darcy’s family. Sending love and light your way. “ We live, we die and everything in between is a testament of our lives”. RIP my ‘TWIN FRIEND’ Margaret (Brower-Berkhoven) Wood
