Obituary for Clifford Bruce "Cliff" Christie

Mr. Clifford Bruce Christie of Caroline, Alberta passed away peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, at the Sundre Hospital and Care Centre, Sundre, Alberta on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at the age of 73 years. Clifford was born on June 1, 1947 at Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, to parents, James Bruce and Gladys Christie. He was the middle child of three siblings. He received most of his education at Rocky Mountain House and after doing odd jobs, in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s, he began operating a Cat for Chevalier Construction; as well as other Oilfield and Road Building Companies. Clifford then turned his attention to the Trucking Industry, buying his own gravel truck in 1972. Later, he moved to Red Deer and eventually began moving Mobile Homes. Yes, he was tough enough to drive pink trucks; as they became his signature color and people could see him coming from a mile away. Remaining mostly in Central Alberta, Clifford has owned and operated his own Construction equipment, gravel trucks, Mobile Home moving trucks, and even Mobile Lunch trucks. He always did his best and had a good work ethic. Clifford had a love of the outdoors and spent many hours with his family camping, dirt biking, boating and quading and Oh! How he loved a good water fight! He was very proud of his lawn and always kept it trimmed nicely! He will be deeply missed. Clifford will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Bruce (Stacey) and Allen; his daughters, Jody (Scott) Laitre and Kimberly (Clay) Sampson and his grandchildren, whom he was especially fond of, Carly, Shanelle, Cole, Cheyenne, Laramie, Dakota, Cooper, Boone, Cohen and Keeley; as well as his five great grandchildren. He will also be sadly missed by his youngest sister, Jean (Joe) Sopel and families, his mother-in-law, Chick Lewis, his nephews, Robert and Jeff Gale and families and his longtime friend, Ken Adams; as well as many other good friends and neighbours. Clifford was predeceased by his parents, a son, Kevin, a sister, Lorraine and her son, Jamie and her daughter, Kathy. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
