Obituary for Christopher Shea Prendergast

We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of Mr. Christopher ‘Chris’ ‘Shea’ Prendergast at Edmonton, Alberta on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at the age of 48 years. Chris was born on June 23, 1972 at Calgary, Alberta, the youngest son of Clark and Kathy Prendergast. He spent his early years in Red Deer, with two years spent in Nova Scotia. After graduating from Lindsay Thurber Comprehensive High School in Red Deer, Chris attended the University of Alberta, Edmonton. He graduated University with his Bachelor of Science Degree. In 2001, he married Petra Roubalova; and the couple had two sons, Clark Liam and Carter Ladislav. Although Chris focused on his family, and coaching his sons in hockey and soccer, he had many hobbies he enthusiastically enjoyed. He loved the water and spent many hours boating and fishing at Sylvan Lake and Savary Island, British Columbia. As an avid scuba diver, Chris traveled extensively for pleasure and work. He made friends easily and enjoyed hunting with his group of friends. A highlight for Chris was the many hours he spent developing his Surgical Supply Business and the wonderful people he met through those experiences; as well as his volunteer work with Broken Earth in Haiti. He was instrumental in gathering supplies and equipment for the surgeries needed there. Chris had an amazing talent in that he could figure out how to build and fix anything. Chris will be very deeply missed by all who loved him; and the world has one less angel to help the needy and the poor. Chris will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Petra and his two sons, Clark and Carter of Edmonton, Alberta; his brother, Rod and his wife, Susan, also of Edmonton, his father, Clark Prendergast (Margaret Walker), his mother, Kathleen Humphries Fuchs (Johnnie), all of Red Deer and his nephew, Markus of Edmonton; as well as his step brothers and sisters, his aunts and uncles and his many cousins. A Private Family Funeral Service will be held. For those unable to attend, the Funeral Service will be Live Streamed.
