Obituary for Catharine Ruth "Cathy" Keay (Burley)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mrs. Catharine ‘Cathy’ Ruth Keay, with her husband of fifty years at her side, at the Lacombe Long Term Care Centre, Lacombe, Alberta on Friday, November 29, 2019 at the age of 74 years. Cathy was born in Owen Sound, Ontario on January 9, 1945. Cathy was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and grandmother to all. She was an exceptional cook, had the most wonderful sense of humour, and loved her soapy stories. Cathy was loving and caring to everyone and thought that - everyone must always eat!! She loved her cats, reading and music. Cathy will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Andrew ‘Andy’ Keay of Lacombe, Alberta; her children, Bill Eden (Donna Kennedy), Becky Eden, Pamela Eden Lawrence, Ben Keay and Diane Keay; twenty-two grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She will also be sadly missed by her sister, Brenda Catley; her brother, Robert Catley; and her sisters-in-law, Cecile Williams and Carole Keay; as well as numerous extended family and dear friends. Cathy was predeceased by a daughter, Gloria Eden, earlier this year; her granddaughter, Hannah Rae Ruth Eden; her grandparents that raised her, Maude Burley and Bill Haines; her parents, Robert and Marion Catley; her sisters, Bonnie Armstrong and Cheryl ‘Corky’ Finlayson; her in-laws, Ben and Rose Keay and a sister-in-law, Helene Bridges.
