Obituary for Bruce Morgan Joseph Heroux

Bruce Morgan Joseph Heroux of Red Deer, Alberta passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, after a courageous battle with multiple strokes at the University of Alberta Hospital, Edmonton, Alberta on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at the age of 72 years. Bruce was born in Birch Hills, Saskatchewan on November 12, 1950. He was the second born child with one older sister and four younger brothers. At the age of seventeen, Bruce moved to Camrose, Alberta to attend the Camrose Community College, where he met the love of his life and soul mate, Beverly Anne Siwak. Bruce and Bev moved to Edmonton, Alberta shortly thereafter where Bruce completed a two-year diploma program in Electronic Technology. Bev completed her diploma in Nursing and the two were married in 1972. In 1975, Bruce’s dream of becoming a father was realized with the birth of their first-born daughter, Tina. Their son, Paul joined the family in 1977. Shortly after, Bruce and the family moved to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, where he worked for the Department of Communications as a Radio Inspector. In 1980, Bruce relocated his family to Lethbridge, Alberta to become a part of Bridge Comm Electronics. In 1981 Bruce and Bev’s family was complete with the birth of their youngest daughter, Tanya. In 1985, Bruce relocated to Red Deer, Alberta to become a partner with Eugene Andres in Mich Comm Electronics. In 1992, Bruce and Eugene had a new vision for the rapidly developing Communications Technology world, and Communications Group Ltd. was created. Bruce and Eugene went on to successfully create one of the largest Motorola Radio Dealerships in Canada, winning multiple accolades along the way. Bruce was a devoted, loving, loyal husband, dad, grandfather, and friend who knew no bounds when it came to generosity and kindness. He rarely missed his kids’ or grandkids’ sports games or music concerts. His laugh was infectious and would light up the entire room. Bruce was a longtime member of CrossRoads Church and will be sadly missed by all. He enjoyed fishing, and hunting as well as a newly found passion in knife fabrication. Bruce also found deep satisfaction working on his tree farm by Sylvan Lake, Alberta. Additionally, Bruce enjoyed spending time at his cabin on the lake. He loved a great lake day with all his family, friends and time on the boats. However, nothing compared to the love he had for his family, especially his most cherished wife. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of fifty years, Bev, his children, Tina (Ed) Henry, Paul (Melanie) Heroux and Tanya (Wade) Lee, and his grandchildren, Austin, Morgan, Hailey, Kira, Bronson, Caleb, Gavyn, Eve and Lydia. Bruce’s family would like to extend special thanks to the Emergency Department staff at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, the Neuro ICU staff at the University of Alberta Hospital and all of the nurses and neurologists involved in his care.
