Obituary for Bette Doreen Stewart (Huget)

STEWART, Bette 1933 – 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bette Doreen Stewart (nee Huget) on Monday,
March 6, 2023 at the age of 89 years. Born and raised in Red Deer, Alberta, she was considered by some
to be the “best looking girl in town.” She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother “G.G.” Bette loved to gather her family for a home cooked meal and a game of cards. A dynamic bridge player and bowler, she possessed a sharp wit and a keen sense of humor. She was a collector of all things pink, mauve and sparkly and enjoyed decorating her home. Bette brought both sweetness and spice into her small family, she was the light around which they gathered. Bette will be lovingly remembered by her husband of sixty-six years, Allan ‘Stew’ Watson Stewart, her daughter, Tracie Stewart-O’Brien, her granddaughters, Krista and Robyn (Trevor McNeely) O’Brien and her great granddaughter, Marigold O’Brien-McNeely. She will also be sadly missed by her sister-in-law, Joan Secombe and the extended Australian family. Bette was predeceased by her parents, Marion (nee Pearn) and Walter E. Huget. There will be no Funeral Service in accordance with Bette’s wishes. A Private Interment will be held at a later date. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. In celebration of Bette’s love for animals, if desired, Memorial Donations in her honor may be made directly to the Central Alberta Humane Society at www.cahumane.com. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed at www.parklandfuneralhome.com. Arrangements in care of Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer. 403.340.4040.
