It is with great sadness that we announce that Mrs. Anne Ruth Scott (nee Nielson) passed away peacefully, with her daughters at her side, on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at the age of 77 years. Anne was born on January 12, 1946, in Calgary, Alberta, where she was also raised. Anne was a Calgary Stampede Princess and Barrel Racing Champion. She was a passionate Educator who touched the lives of thousands of students during her distinguished career. The latter part of Anne’s career was spent at Bow Valley College, where she shared her passion by providing education to new Canadians. Anne was also an avid golfer at Redwood Meadows Golf & Country Club, where she shared many rounds of golf with her beloved husband, David. When Anne wasn’t golfing, she was outside in her gardens, where her work ethic and attention to detail were mirrored in the beauty she created. Anne was known for her quick wit, cheekiness, determined personality and overall, her kindness. Anne was predeceased by her loving husband, David Scott. Anne will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Stacie Scott and Deena (Al) Duke, and her grandchildren, Larissa, Samantha, and Leo. Anne will also be treasured by her dear friends, Mary Jardine and Roy Wilkinson and so many other close friends. A Celebration of Anne’s Life will be held in May, 2023.
