Obituary for Allan Edwin Monks

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Allan Edwin Monks of Red Deer, Alberta, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at the age of 63 years. Allan was born in King’s Cove, Newfoundland to Hubert and Eva Monks on December 9, 1957, the youngest of six children. He spent his youth snaring rabbits and trout fishing. He moved to Labrador in 1972; where he finished High School. Then he moved to Bell Island; where he took his welding at the Trade College. Allan moved to Alberta in 1977, and worked as a welder in the Oil Industry and Waste management. He loved hunting, fishing, darts at the Legion, curling and playing baseball. Allan loved spending time with family and friends. He married Rhonda, and they celebrated their twenty-fifth Wedding Anniversary, earlier this year. Allan was the proud dad of Allan Jr. and Cameron (Tiffany), and stepped up to the role of dad for Charlie (Kristy), Paige (Paul) and Ory (Alexis). With this came his ten grandchildren, whom he loved with all his heart. He will also be lovingly missed by his brothers, Hubert (Linda) Monks and Charlie (Betty) Monks; his sisters, Pearl (Stan) Hampton and Violet Wright; his brothers-in-law, Roy Pike and Travis Mitchell; his sister-in-law, Patti (Vince) Landry and his mother-in-law, Adelaine Mitchell. Allan was predeceased by his parents, Hubert and Eva Monks and a sister, Ruby Pike. A Celebration of Allan’s Life will be held at a later date.
