Obituary for Alfred "Al" Graf

1935 – 2023
Mr. Alfred ‘Al’ Graf passed away peacefully at the Villa Marie Covenant Care, Red Deer, Alberta on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at the age of 88 years. Al was born on February 7, 1935 at Dobroja, Ukraine and, as a teenager, he immigrated to Canada from Europe, finally settling in Saskatchewan. He trained as a pressman, and then became an entrepreneur who founded several printing companies, including Caxton Printing in Regina, Saskatchewan, Capilano Printing in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Creative Cubes, and The Printing Place in Red Deer, Alberta. Al also tried his hand in the Bar Industry by owning the Stateline Bar in Montana, and the Sports Page in Red Deer. Additionally, Al found time to own several ranches in Western Canada. Al was very proud of his family and supported them over the years. He will be remembered fondly. Al will be lovingly remembered by his children, Paul (Candice) of Lacombe, Alberta, Troy (Cindi) of Edmonton, Alberta, his grandchildren, Brandon (Whitney) Graf, Ashley (Aaron) Den Oudsten, Emma Gardner, Hannah Graf, Morgan (Sheldon) Graf, and Taylor Graf, and his great grandchildren, Adeline, Everly, Jacob and Grace. He will also be sadly missed by his sister, Gardy Parent of Edmonton, Alberta. Al was predeceased by his father and mother, Paul and Emma, his wife of fifty-eight years, Elaine Graf (nee Cozma and Daradich), his brother, Alex Graf and a daughter, Brenda Graf. As per Al’s wishes, there will be no Funeral Service. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
