Obituary for Marion Ruth Harty

It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Marion Ruth Harty, who passed away peacefully in Red Deer on Friday, September 13, 2019 at the age of 83 years. Marion spent most of her life in Regina; where she and Bert, her husband of fifty-seven years, raised their four children. Marion and Bert moved to Blackfalds, Alberta in 2010. Marion was a humble and kind-hearted person who took great pride in her family, and supported them in every undertaking. Her witty nature, sense of humor and positive outlook on life had an impact on all around her. We will cherish all our special memories of her. Marion will be lovingly remembered by her children, David (Pauline) Harty, Cheryl Davis (Richard Fritze) and Barb (Darrell); her grandchildren, Tricia (Shane), Anthony (Michelle), Colin (Jenn), Jamie (Aiden), Maeg (Tyler), Cordelia (Trista), Morgan, Marshall, Kasch and Spencer and her great grandchildren, Stephanie (Jordan), Zac, Sam, Addy, Zephyr, MacKenzie, Harper and Cove. She will also be sadly missed by her siblings, Fern (Ernie), Verna (Eldon), Carmen (Doris) and Garry (Karen) and sister-in-law, Merle. Marion was predeceased by her devoted husband, Bert; a daughter, Marci; a son-in-law, Dan; her parents, Joe and Mary Sinclair, Elizabeth Harty and Jim and Lucy Johnson; a sister, Joyce; a brother, Harvey Johnson; her special aunts, Gladys (Steve) and Edna; her sisters-in-law, Rose, Regina (Harry), Jean (Constance), Rita (Bill) and Lea; and her brothers-in-law, Wendell, Andrew, Joe, Alphonse, Ted (Shirley), Leonard and Adam (Flo). The family would like to extend a very special Thank You to Dr. Badenhorst, who took such special and outstanding care of Marion, during her final years. A Celebration of Marion’s Life will be held at Parkland Funeral Home, 6287 – 67A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, September 20, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Blackfalds Cemetery, Blackfalds, Alberta. If desired, Memorial Donations in Marion’s honor may be made directly to Timberstone Mews, 42 Timberstone Way, Red Deer, Alberta, T4P 2M9. The staff at Timberstone provided outstanding care to Marion during her time there.
