It is with heavy hearts that we acknowledge the passing of Ronald Ponych on June 21st, 2019 at the age of 71 years at the Red Deer Regional Hospital from his battle with cancer. As he walked through his battle, he took solace in knowing that Jesus was with him through it all. Ron is survived by his loving wife, Yvette of 49 years and devoted children, Bruce and Tracy (Mike), sister, Jeanette, brother, George (Judi), brother in law, Roger (Vivianne), many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Ron loved spending time with his family, golfing with close friends and always had a ready and welcoming smile. Ron was born in Lethbridge in 1948 and is predeceased by his parents, George and Betty Ponych. A private service will be held at a later date to celebrate Ron’s life. The family is very grateful for the dedicated and loving care that the nursing staff and Dr. McCall and her team provided on Unit 32 of the Red Deer Regional Hospital and to Dr. Sheopershad for his personal care and regular visits to support Ron and family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to the Central Alberta Cancer Centre.
