Debra Lyn Powers, or Debbie as she liked to be called, passed away in the early morning hours at Red Deer on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at the age of 50 years. Debbie was a vibrant soul; she loved to make people laugh and enjoyed nothing more than bringing joy to those around her. Even after an incident left her bound to her wheelchair, her kind personality and joy she found in life did not waver. She lit up any room she was in, not only with her positivity and humor, but also with the abundance of the color pink she always wore. Debbie will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Carolyn, brother, James, nephews, Mark and Luke and niece, Dani; as well as her great nephews and great niece. Debbie was predeceased by her father, Bill, step mother, Donna-Lee, step father, Jim and a sister-in-law, Barb. A Memorial Service will be held at Extendicare Michener Hill, 12 Michener Road, Red Deer, Alberta on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at 3:30 p.m. If desired, Memorial Donations in Debbie’s honor may be made directly to the Association of the Rehabilitation of the Brain Injured at www.arbi.ca.
