Pat & Family.... so very sorry to hear of Ed's passing. My sincerest condolences. I always considered it to have been a privilege to have had Ed as my supervisor and mentor during my time in MInnedosa. A quiet man with such rock solid values. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

Pat and family. Linda & I just learned of Ed's passing a few moments ago. We are so sorry and would have attended his service had we known. We have many memories of our time in Swan River. Ed was always fair and just a wonderful person to work with. Ed was the person who called me to inform me that I had been promoted to Cpl. and would be the NCO in charge of The Pas GIS. He was a Section NCO in Brandon and we were living in Souris. Tonight we will be reflecting on those wonderful memories in Swan River with Ed in Charge. Pat our thoughts and prayers are with you tonight. God Bless.

Ed was very instrumental in helping me and my young family, while living next door to the Kohlmans.
Hundreds of boards, he sanded for my sign company.
His meticulous eye for detail in helping me construct new bus shelters.
He was an excellent carpenter. Created sliding door, connecting two bedrooms.
At our cottage, he constructed two bedrooms in the loft, added windows.
Oh how he hated these fairy rings in his front lawn.
Loved to talk about his musical ride trip to to USA.
Thank you for all your help. We will miss you. Rest In Peace Ed

Our heartfelt condolences Pat and Tara on the passing of Ed. He was a great boss and we had a memorable time at Swan River Detachment. Many times, at end of Friday day shifts, Ed would sit down with members before they all left for home and have a game of cards and a drink or two. When Ed realized it was after the supper hour he would laugh and say to the
members, “No sense going home now, the pork chops are already burnt.” Another trick the member’s played on Steady Eddie was to interfere with his morning bathroom ritual. A pair of ankle boots were placed in the stall so that Ed had to keep checking to see if stall was empty and after a few times, came out and said, “Which one of you is the comedian?” Many fun times for sure with Ed, he had a sense of humour just like his members. RIP friend.

Well said Mike & Diane. Those were good times. I recall all you spoke of. It was our respect for Ed that made our Swan River Days very special and full of a life time of good memories. Dennis & Linda Hogman.
