To know Lloyd was to LOVE Lloyd. I first met Lloyd almost 10 years ago when I was working at a small cafe in downtown Red Deer and he was hired on to be the chef at our Tuesday evening theme dinners. The guy could cook, no one can deny that. After 2 Tuesday's working with him we both decided friends we needed to be, he would tell you otherwise! Give you a story about how he felt sorry for this old Queen!!! I have COUNTLESS memories of Lloyd, all good and maybe a couple not so good, which are the ones I should relay because now I can! I won't, they are his and my secrets. What made Lloyd so memorable was his presence first off and then once he gained your trust and you felt secure around him, his sharp glibness and his crazy sense of humor. His wit was like none other. We all know funny people, but Lloyd's humor was of the type that left you wondering if he was telling you a funny or making funny of you. A recurring and always funny one he played on me at every opportunity was to wait till a crowd of friends, acquaintances and people we didn't even know were gathered and I'd suggest a particular drink I wanted or a quick trip outside to imbibe in an adult cigarette and Lloyd would pipe up for all to hear, "Oh Jack, are you sure? You know what the stuff does to you!" People would look at me with concern, empathy and even disgust in their eyes. With a straight face he would attempt to convince people to keep an eye on me...Oh my God, it worked. Later he and I would howl with laughter...I have met many many people in my life. A lot have come and gone, some still hold a memory to me and some I have completely forgotten. BUT, the short time I knew and loved LLOYD, he left such an impression on me that his memory will NEVER be forgotten by me
