It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Mrs. Sharon Wilkie, loving wife, mother, grandma and friend. She passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre, Calgary, Alberta on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at the age of 59 years. She was born in Lethbridge, Alberta on July 2, 1959 to Edwin and Norma Firth. Sharon was raised with seven other brothers and sisters. After High School, she went on to become a hairdresser, owning her own business. On April 29, 1983, she became a mother to a baby girl, who was the light of her life. Sharon and Jessica then moved to Red Deer, and they met Derek. They began their life together as a family of five and eventually married. Sharon was known as being a dedicated hard worker. She gave everything she had to her jobs. She worked at Purolator for eighteen years, the Red Deer Advocate, then Fastenal; making many long lasting friendships along the way. Sharon’s greatest passion was her grandchildren: Ava, Jayden, Charlee, Scarlett, Cadence, Coda, Suzanna, Aiden and Caitlin. She would always be seen having fun and spoiling her grandkids. She never missed anything. Sharon was a giver and helped anyone she could. She will be deeply missed. She was predeceased by her father, Edwin Firth. She is survived by her mother, Norma Firth, her husband, Derek Wilkie, daughter, Jessica (Jeff) and their children: Ava, Jayden, Charlee and Scarlett, son, David (Margaret) and their children: Cadence and Coda, son, Gordon (Tracy) and their children: Suzanna, Aiden and Caitlin. Sharon is also survived by her siblings: Shirley (Mike) Miechkota, Diane (Cam) Feist, Joanne (Victor) Gyorffy, Ron (Brenda) Firth, Brian (Karen) Firth, Billy (Susan) Firth, Dwayne (Georgina) Firth and numerous nieces and nephews.
