Obituary for Richard John Truman

Richard John  Truman
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Richard John Truman in Red Deer, Alberta
on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at the age of 67 years. Richard was born in Macoun, Saskatchewan on October 21, 1951 to Evelyn and Earl Truman, second youngest of ten children. Richard was raised in Midale, Saskatchewan and moved to Coronation, Alberta in July, 1970. Over the years, Richard lived in Yellowknife, Crowsnest Pass, Edmonton, Calgary, Regina and Fort McMurray. Richard was self- employed and owned Black Ice Trucking. He was a class one driver for forty-three years, accident free. Richard loved his family, classic cars, rock n’ roll and rollin’ down the highway, listening to Elvis. Richard will lovingly be remembered by his wife, Emily Truman; his children, Trevor (Pamela) Doerksen (Sophia) of Calgary, Alberta, Paul (Suzanne) Henderson (Isabella and William) of Edmonton, Alberta, Yvonne (Daryl) Wilkes (Jonathon, Sarah, Abigail & Gary (Orion), Rachel and Joanna) of Lacombe, Alberta and Rhonda (Scott) Humphrey (Kassandra, Jaden and Jaeger) of Red Deer, Alberta, and James (Richard (Noah and Melody), Kenzie, James and Sofia) of Newfoundland. He will also be sadly missed by three great grandchildren; brothers, Donavon (Ida) Truman, Douglas (Patricia) Truman and Norman (Debbie) Affie; and sisters, Verna Pengelly, Helen (Duane) Marcotte, Jean (Ray) Bernard, Mae (Richard) Lawrence, Lois (Ron) Robinson, and Susan Bonokoski, and numerous nieces and nephews that were dear to Richard. Richard was predeceased by his parents, Evelyn and Earl Truman; son, Richard Truman; brothers-in-law, Ron Bonokoski, Charlie Brewer and John Pengelly and step father, Alton Affie. A Celebration of Richard’s Life will be held at Parkland Funeral Home, 6287-67A Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. If desired, Memorial Donations in Richard’s honour may be made directly to the Red Deer Hospice Society at www.reddeerhospice.com.
