CHANDER, Pushap (Paul)
1941 - 2018
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mr. Pushap ‘Paul’ Chander of Red Deer, Alberta on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at the age of 77 years. Pushap was born in Ba, Fiji on March 15, 1941 to Khushi Ram Sharma and Durga Devi Sharma. Pushap married Susila Bajpai in 1964 in Fiji, and they soon moved to Wolverhampton, U.K. After a few years in England and the birth of their son, Tim, they immigrated to Canada in 1968 and settled in Red Deer, where their daughter, Nina was born. Pushap worked most of his career at Red Deer Regional Hospital, retiring in 1995. Post-retirement, and in an effort to keep busy, he started working at Walmart in various roles. Pushap was heartbroken by the loss of his beloved wife of forty-eight years, Susila, in 2012. He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Tim (Sandra) of Edmonton, and his daughter, Nina (Richard) Morrow of Sylvan Lake. Pushap loved and was devoted to his granddaughters, Aashna, Anaiya, Talia and Mattea, who all love and miss him deeply. He is also survived by his brothers, Ramjeet (Santosh), Jagdish (Urmilla), and sisters, Raksha (late T.R. Bardwaj), and Pushpa (Oma Datt); as well as numerous uncles, aunts, brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, and nephews, and nieces. Relatives and friends are invited to come and pay their respects at Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta on Thursday, October, 25, 2018 between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. A Celebration of Pushaps Life will be held at Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer, Alberta on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. If desired, Memorial Donations in Pushap’s honor may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 202 – 5913 50 Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta, T4N 4C4, or at www.heartandstroke.ca.
