Obituary for Lois Eleanor Fuchs (Neufeld)

Lois Eleanor Fuchs (Neufeld)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Lois Eleanor Fuchs (nee Neufeld) of Red Deer, Alberta at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at the age of 83 years. Lois was born in Didsbury, Alberta on May 25, 1935. She was the youngest child of eight siblings born to Cornelius and Sarah Neufeld. Following High School, Lois trained to become a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Calgary General Hospital. She practiced nursing at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton, as well as for many years in the Obstetrical Unit at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, where she was appreciated for her compassionate nursing care. On June 8, 1955, Lois married Albert Fuchs in Didsbury, Alberta. They were married for sixty-three years, and together had four children. Early in their marriage, Albert’s trucking jobs took them to many places before the couple settled in Red Deer. Lois was devoted to God, family and friends. She enjoyed nothing more than sharing a cup of tea and conversation. Music was a big part of her life, both singing and playing the piano. Lois never missed an opportunity for a thoughtful act of kindness or word of encouragement. Always a gracious woman, she welcomed and accepted people as they were, and many sought her ear and counsel. Lois will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Albert; her children, Sharon Mkisi, Robert Fuchs (Annamarie), Denise Pfeifle (Randy); grandchildren, Mike Sheffield (Marjona), Jessica Pfeifle, Rachael Pfeifle, Bronwyn Pfeifle; great grandchildren, Umed and Mijgona; and brother, Amos Neufeld. She is reunited with her daughter, Darlene Sonnenberg, parents, Cornelius and Sarah; and siblings, Sarah, Neil, Abe, Ernie, Dan, and Hannah. Relatives and friends are invited to come and pay their respects at Parkland Funeral Home, 6287 - 67 A Street (Taylor Drive) Red Deer, Alberta on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. A Celebration of Lois’ Life will be held at Parkland Funeral Home, Red Deer, Alberta on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. Interment will take place at the Blackfalds Cemetery, Blackfalds, Alberta.
