Obituary for Wilfred Laurence Kenzle

Wilfred Laurence Kenzle
Mr. Wilfred Laurence Kenzle passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Friday, June 22, 2018 at the age of 104 years. Wilfred was born in Canora, Saskatchewan and moved to Alberta, in the early 1930’s. He met and married Ida on February 7, 1935. Their first home was a farm outside of Sylvan Lake. Wilfred and Ida later moved to the Marianne District, where they farmed for many years before moving into Sylvan Lake. They retired to Vernon, British Columbia in 1973, and moved to Red Deer in 1989, to be closer to the family. After leaving the farm, Wilfred became a full-time Carpenter in the Sylvan Lake, Red Deer and Vernon Areas. He was always involved in the community and church where they lived; and Wilfred was eager to get to know his neighbours and lend a helping hand, when needed. He was very proud of his family who feel very blessed to have had him in their lives for such a long time. Wilfred will be lovingly remembered by his four sons, Laurence (Beverly) of San Jose, California, Calvin (Alice) of Nanton, Alberta, Ralph (Shirley) of Red Deer, Alberta and Ivan (Bernadine) of Red Deer, Alberta; two daughters, Rosemarie Long and Diana (Clayton), both of Red Deer; fourteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. He will also be sadly missed by one brother, William (Opal) of Summerland, British Columbia.
