Obituary for Wayne John Hagel

1946 – 2018
Mr. John Wayne Hagel passed away in Red Deer, Alberta on Saturday, May 31, 2018 at the age of 71 years. Wayne was born in Beiseker, Alberta on October 15, 1946. During his life, Wayne lived in Cranbrook, British Columbia, Calgary, Alberta, and then Red Deer, Alberta. He enjoyed making people smile, and approached things in a light hearted fasion. Wayne was a very giving man and would help anyone who asked. He had a lot of fun with his Business (Yard Cards), decorating lawns with flamingos and other frivolities. Wayne was known for for his wild sense of humour and solving problems, by hosting safety meetings. He enjoyed traveling to tropical countries. Wayne will lovingly be remembered by his sons, Chad Gero and Wade Gero of Red Deer, Alberta; daughters, Kristy Hagel of Kamloops British Columbia, Serena Gero of Red Deer, Alberta, Sharla Hagal of Cranbrook, British Columbia, and Jenna Hagel of Campbell River, British Columbia. He will also be sadly missed by his brother Ron Hagel of Lethbridge, Alberta, fifteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. Wayne was predeceased by a brother, Bob Hagel and his wife, Darlamaine Louise Gero-Hagel. A Funeral Service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5508 – 48A Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with The Reverend Father Jozef Wroblewski officiating.
