Ronald James "Ron"  Rach
Ronald (Ron) J. Rach passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital May 20, 2018, at the age of 85. Ron was born May 7, 1933 in Calgary, Alberta to parents Vincent and Bernice. Ron grew up in Madden, Alberta with his brothers and sister, Melvin, Harold, Roy and Helen. January 1, 1967 Ron met the love of his life, Lola (nee Cooper). They were introduced to each other by Lola's brother Bud, who was Ron's good friend. They then spent the next 51 years enjoying life together and creating wonderful memories. Ron and Lola always had a story to tell all their nieces and nephews. The stories were always full of fun and laughter. Ron was involved in many clubs over the years, including the Elks and Lions Clubs. He really enjoyed being part of the Swan Hills Raven CB Club. Ron and Lola have many fond memories of the Swan Hills Ski-Doo Club; where their motor home was always open for a cup of coffee. Ron and Lola lived in Swan Hills, Alberta from 1969 to 1983 during their time there Ron worked driving tank truck and worked many years for Dekalb. They moved to Sangudo, Alberta in 1983, where they operated a second hand store until Ron's retirement at age 60 in 1993. In 2016 they made the big move to Red Deer, Alberta. Ron will be lovingly remembered by his wife Lola, sister Helen and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He will be fondly remembered by treasured relatives and friends. Ron was predeceased by his parents Vincent and Bernice, brothers Melvin, Harold and Roy, brother-in-law Steve Bezjack, sister in-law Margaret Rach, nephew Gordon Rach, father in-law Vernon Cooper, mother in-law Lilla Cooper, brother in-law Bud (Carl) Cooper and niece Linda May.
A celebration of life will be held at Parkland Funeral Home, 6287-67A St, Red Deer, Alberta, on Saturday June 2, 2018 at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ron's honor may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
