Obituary for Debra Sharon Reid (Schmidt)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mrs. Debra Sharon Reid at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre in Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, April 6, 2018 at the age of 61 years. Debra was born in Moosomin, Saskatchewan on December 30, 1956. She was raised on the Red Jacket family farm and took her schooling in Moosomin. In 1976, Debra moved to Regina for work and there she met the love of the life, Darcy Reid. The couple married in 1977 and shortly after, their daughter Kimberly was born. They moved to Red Deer in 1978 and had their second daughter Melissa in 1979. Anyone who knew Debra knew her passion was for cooking. She spent many years working at Glenn’s Restaurant as the kitchen manager before her retirement. Debra returned to Saskathewan to be closer to family and opened Sweet Pea’s Restaurant in March of 2008. After working for eight wonderful years, Debra finally sold Sweet Pea’s in February of 2016 and moved back to Red Deer to retire.
