Obituary for Jack John "Jack" Evans

August 27, 1943 – January 8, 2017

The family of Mr. Jack Evans sadly announce his passing, at the Red Deer Hospice, after a long courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at the age of 73 years. Jack was born on August 27, 1943 at Portage La Prairie, Manitoba. The family moved to Red Deer, Alberta in 1952. He was employed by Horne & Pitfield Foods Ltd. in Red Deer for twenty-five years. In his retirement, he enjoyed biking the Red Deer Park Trails. He was also a major hockey fan of the Edmonton Oilers and was a hockey statistics buff. Jack will be lovingly remembered by his best friend and sister, Gloria and his best buddy, his cat, Maggie May. Jack was predeceased by his father Ralph Evans, and his mother Agnes Evans (Waterson). Memorial donations in Jack’s memory may be made to the Red Deer and District SPCA at www.reddeerspca.com or to the Red Deer Hospice at www.reddeerhospice.com.
