Obituary for Lorenz Zelt

ZELT, LORENZ

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Mr. Lorenz Zelt of Red Deer, who now joins Mom at peace. Dad passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on Friday September 26, 2008 at the age of 84 years. Lorenz was born in Poland June 11, 1924. He moved to Markerville in 1952 and farmed there until his retirement. He enjoyed his last few years at Bethany Sylvan Lake, and leaves many good friends behind. Lorenz is survived by his daughter Edith (Dave) Oxley of Red Deer, sons Paul (Nelia) of Wetaskiwin, Otto of Red Deer, and son-in-law Don Loov of Wetaskiwin. Lorenz is also survived by seven grandchildren: Travis, Robin, Anders, Steven, Nicole, Chris, and Josh; and five great-grandchildren. His memory will also be cherished by his brother Adolf (Elsie) of Edmonton. Lorenz was predeceased by his loving wife Miriam in 2006, daughter Donna in 1983 and sister Emma in March 2008.The Funeral Service for the late Lorenz Zelt will be held at Christ Lutheran Church (Township road 370 and Range road 32) near Markerville AB on Friday October 3, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Russ Howard officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Lorenz’s memory may be made to The Canadian Diabetes Association, #6, 5015 - 48 Street, Red Deer, AB, T4N 1S9. Condolences may be forwarded to the family at www.parklandfuneralhome.com. The family of Lorenz Zelt would like to thank the staff at Bethany Sylvan Lake for taking such good care of him; and a special thank you to Drs. Bahler and Inglis at the Sylvan Family Health Center.
