The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Doreen Herber can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Doreen May Herber of Red Deer passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on October 21, 2018 at the age of 78. Doreen will be lovingly remembered by her husband Eldon of 59 years, her daughters Brenda (Lloyd) Green, Diane (Joe) Lester, her four grandchildren Tyson (Jennifer), Curtis, Steven (Kayla), and Ashley (Ronald), as well as two great-granddaughters Dalace and Emma. She is also survived by three brothers, Ken (Zola) Bateman, Leonard (Joan) Bateman, Barry (Lesley) Bateman, and two sisters Betty Holtz and Mary Gavine. A Celebration of Doreen’s Life will be held at The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd – 40 Holmes Street, Red Deer, AB on Monday October 29th at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Golden Circle Senior Resource Centre where Doreen volunteered for over 15 years, 4620-47A Ave, Red Deer, AB T4N 3R4
