Obituary for Garnet Bruce Eastcott

Garnet Bruce Eastcott
Mr. Garnet Bruce Eastcott passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Hospice on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the age of 78 years. Garnet was raised in Okotoks, Alberta, by his parents, Don and Elizabeth Eastcott, with his two sisters and three brothers. In 1949, the family moved to Edmonton, Alberta, where Garnet graduated from High School and met his wife, Sylvia Eastcott. They married in 1959, and were blessed with two sons, Wayne and Kendal Eastcott. Garnet was a hard working man, and very dedicated to his family and future. He enjoyed sports, fishing, hunting, trap shooting, collecting classic cars, drag bike racing, and service station memorabilia. In 1963, he founded Circle T Service & Rental, which remains a successful family business today. Throughout his life, he was highly involved and respected within the community. Garnet was also active in The Shrine, joining in 1973. He has had many accomplishments in his lifetime; such as being raised to a Master Mason in Kenilworth Lodge No. 29 in 1970, President of Red Deer Shrine Club in 1977, served as Worshipful Master from 1979 to 1980, Life Member of Keystone Chapter No.12 Royal Arch Masons, member of Preceptory #46 Knight of the Order of the Temple, elected to Al Azar Divan in 1986, and served as Potentate in 1990. We will always carry you in our hearts. Garnet will be lovingly remembered by his loving wife, Sylvia Eastcott; their grandson, Jamie Paul, son, Wayne (Linda) Eastcott, granddaughter, Alanna Eastcott, and dearest friend, Robert Anderson. Garnet was predeceased by his son, Kendal Eastcott. A special thanks to the staff and caretakers at the Red Deer Hospice for making Garnet’s final days so comfortable and for the compassion shown to the Eastcott family, which they appreciated immeasurably. A Celebration of Garnet’s Life will be held in the early Summer, at a later date. Condolences may be sent or viewed at www.parklandfuneralhome.com. Arrangements in care of Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer. 403.340.4040 or 1.800.481.7421.
