Life Story for Rozalma Weidman (Bulat)

WEIDMAN, Rozalma
1935 – 2017
Mrs. Rozalma Weidman, beloved wife of Mr. Laverne Weidman of Eckville, Alberta, passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Friday, November 10, 2017 at the age of 82 years. Rozalma was born at Calmar, Alberta on May 30, 1935, the third daughter of Ann and Harry Bulat. There she grew up and received her schooling. She met Laverne Weidman and married in 1952. With Laverne's endeavors in the oilfields, they lived in many locations in Alberta and Saskatchewan. While in Calmar, they started a family - Wayne in 1954 and Donna in 1957. In 1963, Rozalma joined the Kindersley Oil Wives and began curling, a sport she enjoyed for many years. In 1965, the family moved to Eckville; where she became a Fuller Brush Lady, forming many friendships. Later, she began bookkeeping for local construction companies (Bernie's Excavating, Diamond Head and Skocdopole's). In the 1970's, they moved to Lloydminster, where she began to golf. After a brief stay in Stettler, they returned to Eckville, where they both worked for CARBT Oil. There, she developed a love for Bingo. She could be seen travelling with her friends to Bingo Halls in the area. She enjoyed helping with bingos at the Eckville Manor. The family would sincerely like to thank Dr. Fugler and the ladies of Home Care that made it possible to spend her final days at home. Rozalma will be lovingly remembered by her husband of sixty-five years, Laverne; her son, Wayne (Fran) of Hespero, Alberta and daughter, Donna (Laurent Labonté) of Leduc, Alberta; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She will also be sadly missed by a sister, Maxine Iwanika of Leduc; as well as numerous other family and dear friends. Rozalma was predeceased by her mother, Ann, father, Harry and a sister, Irene Schultiess. Relatives and friends are invited to come and pay their respects one hour prior to the Life Celebration. A Celebration of Rozalma's Life will be held at the Eckville Community Centre, Eckville, Alberta on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with The Reverend Sandra Franklin-Law officiating. A Private Family Interment will be held at the Eckville Cemetery, Eckville, Alberta, at a later date.
