Obituary for Frances Mary Foisy

Frances Mary Foisy
Mary Margaret Frances Foisy (nee Deloughery), known to everyone as Frances, was born on the 8th of June, 1933 in Pembroke, Ontario to Mildred (Laronde) Deloughery and Ernest Deloughery. She spent her entire childhood and school years in Pembroke. Her favorite hobbies growing up were; ice skating and dancing. She met her future military husband at a local dance, and that union took her to far away parts that included a stint in Germany, back to Ontario, New Brunswick, and eventually to Calgary, Alberta where she continued her banking career until she retired in 1993. Not all the years were easy, and she continued to be the source of strength for her children. She loved her job, she loved to cook, bake and dance, and she loved her family. It was once again her love of dancing that brought her to meeting her husband Victor Foisy. The pair of them loved to dance, and rarely missed a weekend. As her children grew up and married, and made her a Grandmother, she embraced the role of Grandma and was affectionately known as “Granny Franny” to her many grandchildren. Granny Franny and Grandpa Vic loved their role as grandparents and loved to travel. Many of their journeys incorporated the two loves of grandchildren and travel. At retirement they resided in Red Deer in a neighborhood they loved, and they traveled as much as they could. They went on cruises, they took road trips, air trips and spent a lot of time exploring in their RV. They loved life and life loved them. They enjoyed winters in Arizona and traveled right up until Frances could no longer do so. Frances had an infectious laugh and a smile that could light up a room. She was a social butterfly and rarely missed an opportunity to attend any gathering. Frances is survived by her husband, Victor Foisy, her six children: daughter, Susan Hetrick and spouse Grady, of Katy, Texas, son Bill Glendinning and spouse Sheila, of Calgary, Alberta, son Jim Glendinning of Calgary, Alberta, daughter, Judy Anderson and spouse Sandy, of Calgary, Alberta, son Scott Glendinning and spouse Pamela, of St. Albert, Alberta, and son Kenneth Foisy and spouse MJ, of Calgary, Alberta. Her grandchildren include; Krysta, John, Kyle, Jordyn, Christopher, Michael, Nicholas, Lindsay, Amy, Alyssa, Jessica and Pricilla. She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren and her brother Robert Deloughery of Sarnia, Ontario. She was predeceased by her brother Thomas Deloughery of Pembroke, Ontario.
