Condolence: It's a day of mixed emotions for me. There's obviously some worry and anxiety over that. But it's a very happy day as I wish my Dad a very happy 82nd birthday. But an extremely sad day as a man who acted like a second Dad to me when I was younger, passed away this morning. Dan Randal gave me work selling Jeeps at his dealership Randal Jeep Eagle in Waterloo, back in the late 80s when I was a part timer at 1090 CKKW. Later, he opened a shop in Preston/Cambridge and took me in there. He cared and I was always made to feel like part of the family. His sons Dave and Mike were my brothers. All these years later we're still in contact. In fact Dave called just a while back to let me know things weren't looking so good. I'm so sorry for your loss guys. My deepest sympathies to you and the whole family.

Condolence: as per voice conversation he does not use computer or internet so I will transfer what he said as per his request"I will always have happy thoughts of you Dan...you were more than a friend... more I think a brother... through good times as well as bad.I remember alot of our early days boating but one stands in my mind...someone tired of posessions quick always wanting something new(being me).My finacial situation was not great...After being without a boat and going with your dad to marina seen a resonable craft that i liked of course i didnt have the money and Dan with his big heart said "I will lend you the money...as long as you keep it!!"From there we boated for years and he also taught me how to be what I became in later years .Both me and my deceased wife Mary always has great respect for Dan, Cathy and their children we were all family.I will miss you dearly and always think of good times.Rest in peace my friend thanks for everything."

Condolence: We just wanted to say good bye to an old neighbour and a dear friend. We shared so many good times, lots of laughs and an occasional beverage44. Always when we hear a fifties tune we immediately think of Dan. I know the heavens will be dancing to the tunes when he arrives. RIP our friend.

Condolence: Here is a man who touched a lot of hearts, made a lot of people laugh, and most recent made a lot of people cry. I have the bragging rights to call him "Dad". A great father, mentor, but also a great buddy(as he always said before we hung up the phone). He left behind a legacy. Everything I am today, mannerism and good "old school" morals, I owe to my mentor.
