Obituary for Merle Morris "Bud" Dash

Mr. Merle Morris 'Bud' Dash of Red Deer, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at the age of 92 years. Bud was born in Kipling, Saskatchewan; along with his twin sister Audrey, the youngest of six to Katie and Herbert Dash. He grew up in Wildwood; where his family homesteaded. He joined the RCAF in 1942 and served overseas during WW II. Bud married Violet Stone in 1948 and the couple had four children in four different provinces, while serving as an Airframe Technician. After twenty-five years of service, Bud moved his family to Wildwood, to start a thirty year farming career. Bud’s legacy was service to his family, his community, and his country. Those who knew him will not forget his twinkling blue eyes, and his kind and loving heart. Bud will be lovingly remembered by his sweetheart, Barb More; his children, Carol (Bill) Simms, Karen Dash and Sherry (Dr. Alan) Poole; his grandchildren, William Simms, Michael Simms, Tanya Mudryk, David Dash, Connor Poole, and Haley Poole; and his great grandchildren, Erika, Stephen, and Daniel Simms. Bud was predeceased by his wife, Violet of fifty-eight years; his son, Gary Dash and his siblings, Victor, Kenneth, Robert, Nora, and a twin, Audrey. Special mention to Barb’s family who adopted him as one of their own.
