Josephine  Schatz
Josephine Schatz of Red Deer Alberta passed away on August 13, 2016 at the age of 82 years. Josephine was born to the late George and Adeline Schatz on November 3, 1933 in Ma-Me-O Beach, Alberta and grew up in Wetaskiwin. She began her career with Alberta Government Telephone, which led her to work in Bermuda and in hospitals in Kelowna, BC, Red Deer, and Edmonton. She was an accomplished artist throughout her life, dedicating herself to her art after raising her family. Josephine had an active retirement, participating in art competitions, developing rich and lasting friendships, enjoying time with her family, and traveling to Europe and Israel. Her greatest joy was her children and grandchildren. Josephine is survived by her three children: Ron (Karen), Grant (Valerie), and Beverly; two grandchildren: Joanne and Craig; sisters: Delores (Mel) and Betty; very special friends: Paul and Liz, and Yvonne; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be Made to the Red Deer Hospice Society, www.reddeerhospice.com. A Memorial Service for Josephine will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Parkland Funeral Home, 6287 - 67A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer, Alberta.
