Obituary for Victoria "Vicky" McDougall (Daneliuk)

Mrs. Victoria ‘Vicky’ McDougall of Red Deer, Alberta, formerly of Calgary, Alberta, passed away following a year long battle with cancer, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Friday, October 31, 2014 at the age of 74 years. Vicky was born on February 25, 1940 at Edmonton, Alberta. She worked at the Calgary Co-op for many years. Vicky was a loyal military wife and volunteered at the Royal Canadian Legion. She always put others before herself whether volunteering or caring for her family. Vicky was truly a loving and devoted wife, mother, proud grandmother, sister and a trusted friend. She will be dearly missed. Vicky will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Jody (Glenn) Michaud of Red Deer and Toni (Kim) Whipple of Okotoks, Alberta, her son, Jay McDougall of Calgary, Alberta and her grandchildren, Jaryd, Kirsten, Tayten, Selena, Samantha, Brandon, Paris, Jesse and Heather of Lawrence, Kansas, United States and three great grandchildren. She will also be sadly missed by her siblings, Helen Kashuba, Jean Demetryk, Mary (Peter) Hutniak, William (Rose) Danyliuk and Alex (Rita) Danyliuk. Vicky was predeceased by her husband, Lorne, a son, Terry in 2005 and siblings, Lena Krasse, John Danyliuk, Peter Danyliuk, Katie Farmer, Sylvia Brown, Pauline Trosko. An Open House in Vicky’s honor will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 289, Killarney-Glengarry Community Centre, 2828 – 28 Street SW, Calgary, Alberta on Sunday, November 9, 2014 between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. If desired, Memorial Donations in Vicky’s honor may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society at www.cancer.ca.
