Laurian Weston "Laurie"  Phillips
Laurie Phillips of Red Deer, passed away peacefully at Bethany CollegeSide, Red Deer to be with his Lord and Saviour, on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the age of 88 years. He was born in Allan, Saskatchewan on May 2, 1926. Starting at the age of 17, Laurie proudly served in the Royal Canadian Navy and continued after the war in different capacities for 3 years. Upon moving to Red Deer, he spent most of his working years at Northwestern Utilities until he retired in 1982, enjoying many years with his family and friends until his passing. He will be lovingly missed by his wife, Leona, of 61 years, his 3 sons, Wayne (Cindy), Gordon (Joann), Brad (Josie), 7 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Hopfner and the wonderful staff at Bethany Unit B-1. A Funeral Service will be held at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 18 Selkirk Blvd., Red Deer, Alberta on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Memorial Donations may be made to the Mount Calvary Lutheran Church Building Fund.
