Mr. Jack Douglas Bryant passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at the age of 89 years. Jack was born on January 11, 1925 at Lethbridge, Alberta. He was the second child born to Herschell and Johnny Bryant. The family moved to Red Deer, where Jack worked with his dad operating a livestock hauling business and later operated H.N. Bryant and Son Esso Station. After taking Airforce training, Jack met and married Elva Howard from Sylvan Lake, Alberta. He was later employed by the Alberta Liquor Control Board. Jack was a kind, patient and loving husband, father and grandfather and we will miss him very much. Jack will be lovingly remembered by his son, Doug (Diane), daughter, Pat (Dale) Stannard, granddaughters, Tracy (Brent) McAuley, Sara (James) Lennie, grandson, Adam Stannard (Taca) and six great grandchildren. He will also be sadly missed by his sister, Beth McFarlane, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jack was predeceased by his parents, his wife of sixty-seven years, Elva, a brother, Keith Bryant, a sister, Phyllis Courtright and a granddaughter, Jessica Stannard. A Private Family Service will take place at a later date. The family wishes to thank the Staff at Michener Extendicare, Household 2500 for their kindness and true compassion toward Jack during his stay there.
