Thelma Butt (nee Smith) was born on September 9, 1939 on the family farm at Douglaston, Saskatchewan (near Alameda, Saskatchewan) and passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2014 after a brief stay at the Red Deer Hospice, at the age of 74 years. Thelma will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Donald of Red Deer, son, Troy (Becky) Butt and grandsons, John and Truman of Scone, Australia, sister, Joan (Ken) Ewan of Brampton, Ontario, brother, Ken (Irene) Smith of Regina, Saskatchewan and brother-in-law, George of Arcola, Saskatchewan, as well as numerous extended family. Thelma was predeceased by her parents. A Memorial Service will be held at Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer, Alberta on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Flowers are most graciously declined. If desired, Memorial Donations in Thelma’s honor may be made directly to the Red Deer Hospice Society, 99 Arnot Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta, T4R 3S6.
